What this is

The Morning Standard is a personal tool. It reads one person's email and calendar, and sends that person a summary each morning. It is operated by an individual for their own use. It is not a product, and no account can be created on it.

Whose information this is about

Two kinds of people appear in this system.

The operator. The single user, whose Google account the tool reads.

People who write to the operator. Their email address, the subject of their message, and a short extract of it are read by the tool. This policy exists mainly for them.

What the tool reads

From Google, with read-only permission:

The tool cannot send, delete, or change anything in Gmail or Calendar. Its Google access is read-only.

Why it reads them

To write one email each morning that lists what needs the operator's attention, what is worth reading, and what is on the calendar.

Who can see the result

Only the operator. The brief is sent to the operator's own address. Nothing is published, shared, or sold. No advertising is served, and no data is used to train any model.

Google user data

The tool's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google user data is not transferred to anyone except the service providers listed above, and only to deliver the features described here. It is not used for advertising, and it is not sold. No human reads it other than the operator.
